Question for Christians who "hate the sin & love the sinner"...?

I'd go through and provide example after example of where God hated sin, but I seriously don't think it's necessary, we all know them. The Bible is riddled with examples where God smote people because of their sin. But not once, not even once, does God ever kill or punish a people just coz He hated them. In every example, it was their sin that He despised.
