Why do neurons don't express cl I MHC on their surface?

Several years ago, researchers at Harvard Medical School made the unexpected discovery that neurons have major histocompatibility complex (MHC) cl I molecules on their cell surface. MHC cl I molecules play a central role in a healthy, functioning immune system by helping the body recognize and destroy disease-infected cells.
