Meteorologists say intense ulonimbus in tropical cyclones but i didnot observe lightning in strom clarify?

Many ulonimbus clouds can have little or no lightning, particularly in tropical regions. This is because the relatively warm atmosphere limits the amount of snow flake and hail production in the mid and upper levels of the clouds which seems to significantly help in generating the electrical fields required for lightning. Thus you can get the tall clouds that produce torrential rains, but little if any lightning.
