In Singapore, when the house sole agent and my agent are husband and wife, is it acceptable?

I engaged a property agent to but a resale hdb flat. On our first appt, the seller told us that they only received the 2nd downpayment money from their agents 12 days after I gave the money to my agent. And suspected the agents were using the money for their own need. When I told them that we couldn't know whether their agent or my agent did that, they told us that both of them are husband and wife!! I was very upset upon hearing this, as my agent didn't inform me anything and she told me that she didn't know how to contact the seller previously as I had something urgent to ask the seller. When we viewed the house she actually told me that the house agent trusted her so he was not there during the viewing, and told us she was a co-broke only. I truly feel very upset and cheated. Please advise whether they are in a wrong.
